Advice seminar to young scientists at Skyline College

Paul was invited to talk to Skyline College students this month as part of the NIH-funded CCSF/Skyline College/SFSU Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program run by Skyline associate professor and microbiology researcher Steven L Weinstein.

The goal of the program is to increase the number of under-represented minority community students pursuing advanced degrees in the biomedical sciences.   A key component of their program is providing opportunities for Bridges students to interact with active research scientists.  Toward this end, they run a  weekly seminar series at  Skyline College  to allow students to meet   a broad range of scientists.   Through these seminars, they hope that students  learn about  exciting, cutting-edge science, what it takes training-wise and why individuals have chosen this career path.
